Bilateral Economic and Commercial Relations

Our bilateral trade volume with India was US$7.495 billion in 2025, with our export-to-import ratio increasing to 23.2%.

Currently, our main export items consist of marble, sunflower seed oil, steel scrap, fresh apples, and carbonates/peroxycarbonates.

Our main imports from India include mineral fuels, parts for motor vehicles, raw aluminum, smartphones, and synthetic yarns.

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye’s (TCMB) International Investment Position data, as of 2024, Turkish direct investments (stock) in India amounted to $144 million, while Indian direct investments (stock) in Türkiye amounted to $280 million.

The Türkiye-India Joint Committee on Economic and Technical Cooperation (JETCO) mechanism was established with the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed in 1978. To date, a total of 10 JETCO meetings have been held between the two countries, the last of which took place on 30-31 January 2014 in New Delhi.

Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Türkiye-India Business Council has been established in 1996. DEİK’s counterpart in India is Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The last meeting between the two establishments took place in Istanbul on 20 January 2011.

Indian tourists visiting our country in 2024 amounted to 307,000 in 2024.
