Büyükelçinin Mesajı
Dear Friends of Türkiye,
It is a distinct honour for me to serve as the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in New Delhi, accredited to India, Nepal and Bhutan. I have the pleasure to report with full satisfaction that Türkiye enjoys excellent relations with India, Nepal and Bhutan.
Deep-rooted fellowship and affection between Türkiye and India have been manifest many times in our histories. In 1951, Türkiye became the first country with which the newly independentIndiasigned an Agreement on Cultural Affairs.I am also pleased to recall that the Treaty of Friendship betweenTürkiye and India, which was signed in the same year, has stipulated that “there shall be perpetual peace and friendship between the Republic ofTürkiye and the Republic of India”.
Türkiyeis keen to intensify our bilateral relations with India in all areas in accordance with the spirit of this landmark Treaty of Friendship.
As a recognition of the historic friendship between Türkiye and India, two streets in Ankara have been named after the great statesmen and friends of Türkiye’s, Mahatma Gandhi-ji and Rabindranath Tagore. The official residence of the Honourable Prime Minister of India in New Delhi sits on the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk Marg on one side and Race Course road on the other.
Türkiyeand India are the two rising stars in their broad regions and indeed the world. We both have strong democratic and secular political systems and traditions. There is significant potential for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats on manyregional and global issues.
It is a strategic goal forTürkiye to further develop and deepen her relations with India. To that effect we have intensified the number of high level exchanges betweenTürkiye and India
I firmly believe that the future holds great promise and potential for deepening Turkish-Indian cooperation not just in politics, but also in other key areas such as commerce, investments, science, aviation, tourism and culture.
In my tenure in India my team and I will be continuing to work diligently in order to substantiate and further uplift the already existing good relations between our two friendly countries.
On behalf of my Embassy and myself, I extend my best wishes to the friendly peoples of India, Nepal and Bhutan.
