QA-3, 31 January 2019, Statement of the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr.Hami Aksoy, in Response to a Question Regarding the Draft Notification about the Implemention of New Law on the Residence Status of Foreign Nationals in which Turkey is Listed Among Countries from which Foreign Workers will not be Accepted to Japan
We are very disappointed that Turkey is listed among countries from which foreign workers will not be accepted to Japan, in the draft notification regarding the implemention of new law on the residence status of foreign nationals, that will come into force in April. This situation does not reflect the deep-rooted friendly relations and strategic partnership between our countries. We believe that this decision will be revised and amended as soon as possible. Japan's Ambassador to Turkey was summoned to the Ministry to express our concern on this issue.
