H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey will pay an official visit to Georgia on 17 February 2016 upon the invitation of H.E. Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu will be received by the President of Georgia, H.E. Giorgi Margvelashvili, Prime Minister H.E. Giorgi Kvirikashvili and the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia H.E. David Usupashvili. H.E. Minister Çavuşoğlu and H.E. Minister Janelidze will hold a tête-à-tête talk, as well as a meeting with the participation of respective delegations.

Following the official visit, the Fifth Trilateral Meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia will be held on 19 February, 2016 in Tbilisi.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Ministers will exchange views on the prospects for developing regional cooperation on issues of common interest and review the decisions taken at the previous meetings. They will also discuss prospective opportunities for cooperation.

The Trilateral Meeting of Foreign Ministers, where bilateral and regional issues are evaluated in a comprehensive way, contributes to the development of common understanding in all areas on the basis of mutual interest, and to the consolidation of regional stability and security.
