Press Release Regarding the Visit of H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, to the Republic of Korea to Participate in the Fifth MIKTA Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, will pay a visit to the Republic of Korea to participate in the Fifth Foreign Ministers Meeting of the MIKTA Initiative (Mexico, Indonesia, Korea, Turkey and Australia) to be held in Seoul on 21-22 May 2015.

MIKTA was founded as an informal consultation and cooperation platform among the aforementioned countries with the aim of helping produce progressive solutions to global issues.

The Fifth MIKTA Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Seoul is expected to provide the opportunity for concrete steps to be taken to develop the initiative.

Turkey will continue to contribute to this significant initiative with the understanding that the MIKTA platform, five members of which are also G-20 members, will facilitate the quest for solution of major challenges on the international arena, thus contributing to global peace, stability and prosperity.

Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu, along with other MIKTA Foreign Ministers, will be received by H.E. Park Geun-hye, President of the Republic of Korea, and hold bilateral talks with other Foreign Ministers participating in the meeting.
