Press Release Regarding the Latest Developments in Yemen

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 24.09.2014

No: 303, 23 September 2014

We welcome the signing in Yemen of a “National Agreement” on 21 September among President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and Houthies as well as leading political parties, under the good offices of Jamal Benomar, Special Adviser of the UN Secretary-General to Yemen, and on the basis of the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, with a view to ending violent conflicts causing loss of lives recently.

Within this framework, we call on all parties to abide by the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference held in January 2014 which was concluded with reconciliation following the initiative of Gulf Cooperation Council, to comply with the adopted National Agreement, to refrain from conflicts, actions disrupting public order or every kind of violence, and to act in common sense.

Believing that the problems in Yemen can be solved through peaceful dialogue, Turkey will resolutely continue to support the political transition process for the establishment of peace, stability and security in Yemen.
